ReDark

redark-red-wine-intro

The wine ReDark from the Ultra Premium category has been known to wine-lovers since the spring of 2002 when the first vintage of that brand – ReDark was launched on the Bulgarian market.

ReDark is wine, made from handpicked grapes selected at optimal ripeness. The hot and dry summer of South-Western Bulgaria produced grapes of superbly concentrated aromas and a dramatic, purple-red color. The result is a full-bodied yet velvety wine. Balanced rich and succulent body, flavoured with the exotic character of the local unique Bulgarian varieties – *Ruen and *Rubin which were added for the first time in vintage 2005.

Blend of Cabernet sauvignon & Ruen & Rubin

*The Rubin variety is a cross between Nebbiolo and Syrah created in 1944 and recognized as a variety in 1961.

*The Ruen variety is a cross between Broad-leaved Melnik vine and Cabernet Sauvignon, recognized as a variety in 1964.

Kometa No Man’s Land

no-mans-land-kometa-introv2

The 5-mile strip of land between Bulgaria’s primary border and the main frontier with its southern neighbours – a narrow strip of land, which previously separated the worlds of Socialism and Capitalism – is an environmental paradise, pollution-free with preserved wildlife.

Kometa No Man’s Land – Ultra premium category. Wine matures in French oak barriques for 10 months to develop a complex character without strong oak influence.  Made in very limited series. This wine is made for connoisseurs. The grapes were picked gently and prior to the harvest a two-step selection of bunches and grapes was carried out.

Deep ruby red color with soft glow, multi-layered nose with accents of wild berries confiture, raisins in liqueur, dark chocolate, delicate smoke. Body with velvety tannins and rich flavour of transformed fruit, long finish with a hint smoke.

Uniqato Rubin

uniqato-rubin-intro

The Uniqato line aims to show superb wines from lesser known Bulgarian grape varieties, bearing unique style. The process of grape harvesting was delayed until there was partial withering. This was a way to attain better concentration and easier body and color extraction from grape skins. Varying fermentation regimes were followed by each individual fermenter. The wine aged in various styles of French and Bulgarian oak barrels for ten months. The malolactic fermentation took place in the barrels. Combining various vinification and ageing approaches contributed to a balanced and sophisticated complexity of the wine.

Volcano Syrah

volcano-syrah-intro

The majority of the vine where the grapes for this wine grew are located near the extinct volcano Kojuh. When the volcano erupts, it brings death and devastation. Yet the microelements and minerals that are thrust to the surface enrich the soil so that new life takes hold and flourishes. Close to the extinct volcano Kojuh, the vineyards thrive in what were lava and volcano ash millions of years ago.

The wine has vivid, dense ink red colour.

The aroma – mature, varietal nose with soft black berries, small flowers (pansies) interesting accent of pine honey and liqueur notes.

Palate – juicy, volume body with grainy, velvet tannins, dense structure and elegant, noble finale. Wine with aging potential.
